This weekend the annual (or at least: it’s been annual last couple of years) RS Fest was held in Rosmalen, the Netherlands. I went !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and showed some pictures back then so here are the results of this year’s edition. It seemed to be somewhat smaller this year, no official dealer showed all the new stuff (like they did last year, except for the 918). It’s a bit pic-heavy so if you’re not into Porsches (most of them 911s of course) better skip this one!
Lots of vintage Porsches, lots of US-imports as well.
Prices are completely nuts at this moment, I saw a 911 3.2 pre-’87 (so no G50 transmission) for almost 50k euros. As an original-EU 3.2 G50-owner I approve of this of course but it’s getting a bit absurd. This was that one:
Newer stuff as well though, it was a nice mix of both worlds.
This year’s edition had some sort of Targa-theme so lots of those as well. Luckily not too much as I’m not a big fan of the vintage Targas. The 993 Targa was the first one I did like.
But still no match for...
And although really appealing, the stuff I come here for is older. Way older. Like a 904.
Or that little bastard 550 spyder.
This one was a replica though.
Best of show for me was this Stinger-esque “913”:
Love that sticker. It wasn’t a genuine Singer, the “donor” car of this one was a 1979 930.
The modern non-911s were attending as well, amazing to see these still don’t get all the attention they’d deserve if you ask me. Oh, one did obviously...
Most of what you see here is for sale. Cheapest one was an all beaten-up 912 with lots of missing parts and quite some holes in it. Was sold for 1950 euro. One parking lot was Porsche-only.
Lot of nice stuff there as well. Cayman GT4!
And the usual suspects...
Well, if you made it this far you’ll have an overload of Porsches seen this morning. Hope you enjoyed it, I loved walking around anyway. Thanks for watching!

As a soon to be 911SC owner, this gets me exited... The 911SC is indeed the only one I can afford right now :(
Prices are really getting crazy... I didn’t know you had a G50! it definitly one of the cars I want to own at some point.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 06:20 |

http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/81943…
And 1950€ for 912 in bad shape you said... lol... and yes, of course, massive CP.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 07:00 |
|
Yep, a G50, one of the last 3.2s, a 1987. I WILL NEVER SELL THIS ONE. And that’s probably what most owners must think seeing those prices. Saw some nice priced 993s though.
I’m thinking of getting a 996 as a daily, these are still ridiculously cheap (and yes I know: not the best looker). Still 3 years to go with my lease-V60 but after that...
![]() 09/22/2015 at 07:01 |
|
Believe me: That 1950 euro-one this weekend was better. It was sold within the hour though.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 08:48 |

This one!
It takes my breath away!
![]() 09/22/2015 at 08:56 |
|
Ow yes! Better than this extremely clean 1600 though?
![]() 09/22/2015 at 08:57 |
|
I won’t make any argument against “better”....that other one just STRUCK me...ya know?
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:02 |
|
I know, I was struck all day come to think of it.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:06 |
|
I completely know that feeling! I went to a concours d’elegance earlier in the summer and seriously...after 5 minutes there...I had sensory overload! I had to sit and get collected for a moment. I was overcome by the art of the car!
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:14 |
|
So much goodness there!!! Thanks for showing all these pics, made my morning!
In a few years I want to also get a 996 as a daily, once the kids are a tad older and don’t need carseats anymore but still have small enough legs that they fit in the “back seat.”
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:22 |
|
Thanks, glad you liked it. But I knew you would of course. Next year you’ll join me right? ;-)
That 996-idea is totally growing on me. The 2002 will be for the summer, that 996 whenever the weather ain’t that good. It will prevent my girl from getting that 125/135 convertible though, she’ll need to get a wagon.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:30 |
|
LOL Will she be okay with that? I also don’t know how my wife would feel about me dailying a Porsche but I can start working on my arguments now!
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:33 |
|
She probably won’t mind. If I get a 996 convertible. Or Targa. We’ll see.
You only need one argument: WIE BETAALT, BEPAALT! ;-)
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:51 |
|
Haha jammer genoeg betalen we allebei dus bepalen we allebei...
![]() 09/22/2015 at 09:58 |
|
Als het betaal-argument niet werkt kun je het nog altijd gooien op “als het mij nou gelukkig maakt, lief”. Je hebt tenslotte een stressvol bestaan met werk en twee kinderen!
![]() 09/22/2015 at 10:21 |
|
Perfekt! En het zou me inderdaad erg gelukkig maken!
![]() 09/22/2015 at 13:57 |

Hoe bevallen de Bilsteins trouwens?
![]() 09/22/2015 at 14:16 |
|
![]() 09/22/2015 at 14:36 |

Super man! Eindelijk die 300+ pk onder controle!
![]() 09/22/2015 at 14:39 |

Nou moet ik haar eindelijk weer eens meenemen naar wat leuke wegen om het echt uit te proberen.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 16:58 |

Great pictures. That 913 “replica” is amazing. Is that still the 930 drivetrain in it? I also really dig the yellow Carrera. I gather you didn’t get your car out of storage for this.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 17:56 |
|
Thanks! There was not much information on that 913. But the “normal” 930 drivetrain would be impossible as there is no room for the intercooler without that wing on it’s back.
I didn’t take out the 3.2. I took Josje with me though. And my brother/nephew.
![]() 09/22/2015 at 18:42 |
|
Awesome. Josje was keepin’ it real I see. I like her purse.
![]() 09/23/2015 at 03:45 |

Awesome post, what a great show. Love those 356 example, so cool!
![]() 09/23/2015 at 03:59 |

She had a blast. That purse works perfectly while making a pirouette.
![]() 09/23/2015 at 04:50 |

Thanks, it was an awesome day! Those 356s are so amazing, totally loved that first blue 1600.
![]() 09/23/2015 at 05:10 |

Yeah looks like it would have been great. That 1600 is beautiful!
![]() 09/23/2015 at 05:38 |

I think my favorite is that Singer. Or last year’s vintage 911S with that Mobil horse on it’s fender!
![]() 09/23/2015 at 09:36 |
|
My favourite is all of them!!! ;)
![]() 09/23/2015 at 09:50 |

The only correct answer. You’ve passed the exam. Flawlessly.
![]() 09/23/2015 at 09:52 |
|
Cool! Do I win one? ;)
![]() 09/23/2015 at 09:54 |

I would love to say “yes”. But I won’t. As it would cost me my dear 3.2.
![]() 09/23/2015 at 09:55 |
|
Just say yes and I'll pick it up on Friday:)
![]() 09/23/2015 at 10:00 |
|
I can’t allow you. Certainly not on French Friday. Got something to show us the day after tomorrow?
![]() 09/24/2015 at 02:20 |
|
Haha. Adorable. I see she got to walk the red carpet like a movie star as well.
![]() 09/24/2015 at 03:46 |
|
Yeah, she’ll have to get used to that red carpet living the life her parents live...
![]() 09/24/2015 at 03:59 |
|
Seriously. I sure didn’t have my own whole floor of the house growing up. She’s a superstar in the making. Just make sure she’s nothing like Kim Richards.
![]() 09/24/2015 at 05:08 |
|
I’ll just tell her what my dad told me: “When I’m dead: all the money and property is gone!”.
I told you about that ‘80’s singer who’s son-in-law I know right? Those kids are truly living the life of a star. All premieres of Spongebob and other epic dubbed children’s movies are attended!
![]() 09/25/2015 at 14:15 |
|
That’s what my parents keep telling me. They’re spending my inheritance already.
I think you did mention him. Which 80’s singer was it? That must be a really fun way to grow up, but hopefully it doesn’t mess with their heads when real life as adults isn’t as exciting.
![]() 09/25/2015 at 15:03 |
|
You still see it as your inheritance. I just ignore that feeling.
The singer of Het Goede Doel. With those enormous glasses. And that enormous hair.
God I love the ‘80’s.
![]() 09/26/2015 at 02:47 |

Oh yeah. Haha. I remember those guys now. You linked their video, I think. Great mullet. I think the mullet was just as popular in Europe as here. But, European mullets aren’t on rednecks.
![]() 09/26/2015 at 06:52 |
|
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
This was it probably. Belgium .
The guy is actually doing great financially. A friend of mine has two children with the guy’s only daughter. That’s some inheritance...
![]() 09/28/2015 at 00:24 |
|
Yeah, it was Belgium. I shared that one to Facebook. It was very popular with my friends.
How many albums did they release? They must have sold a lot of records. Were they popular all over Europe?
![]() 09/28/2015 at 05:35 |
|
They actually released Belgium in English! But, as “Belgie”, in Dutch, consists of 3 syllables (the last “e” is a “ju”, just like with Josje’s name) they needed to alter it. Guess what? It became “Luxembourg (is there life on Pluto)”.
And somehow I seem to remember they did something in Japan (few Dutch artists, like the Dolly Dots, became popular over there) but that could be wishful thinking. Main market was the Netherlands however and Belgium.
And our Dutch artists usually don’t get truly rich from those albums (they released 11, on from which was a “Best of”) as the market isn’t that big. They usually get loaded from performing almost everyday on several places for half an hour and moving on to the next.
Henk still gets royalties though, especially around December. We have the local festivities of Sint Nicolaas (your Santa Claus is a direct ascendant) for which he wrote a song that get’s lots of airing at the start of the winter.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 02:30 |
|
Wait, so that’s the same song as Belgium, but now it’s Luxembourg? That’s insane. It’s also one of the most 80’s music videos I’ve ever seen. It even has a glowing green Space Shuttle. I like that they spell “Britain” wrong in the subtitles. Or, do you guys add an extra “t”? Still, the rest of the sentence is in English.
I’ve never heard of the Dolly Dots. It kind of seems like they were trying to be Abba, but with more people. And all chicks. I really like this.
Writing a Christmas song is a great way to get a lot of royalties. One of my favorites is that Elton John one, Step Into Christmas. I could listen to that any time of year. I imagine you’re a fan of that Johnny Cash one where he sings about a dead guy.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 04:41 |
|
Yep, it’s the SAME song! But those lyrics are awful in English. The Beer is too dear ???? Yeah, Britain is with one “T” but I guess they mixed it up with the Dutch spelling “Groot-Brittannië”. That’s one of the few decent sentences though: “I can’t go to Britain, it might be on strike”. SPOT-ON!!! The Dutch lyrics are way more amazing.
That’s not one of the big hits for the Dolly Dots. This was there Magnum Opus:
In Japan though, they got platinum with this:
They even filmed a (n awful) movie in the US, Dutch Treat . And that was the end of it somehow...
I’m a great admirer of Johnny Cash. Love his Delia’s Gone . And his Hurt of course. But I don’t know which Christmas song you mean: He did so many!
![]() 09/30/2015 at 03:33 |
|
Yeah, the lyrics are hilarious. They just found words that rhymed.
I have to see this Dutch Treat. The trailer is jaw dropping. It looks absolutely awful. I like these Dolly Dots. They look so happy all the time.
This song. It’s really depressing.
![]() 09/30/2015 at 06:27 |
|
Haha, that’s been a while, Dutch Treat . I’m not sure if you can get your hands on a copy though. One of the Dots died 5 years ago. She was one of the 2 that actually had a singing background. The other 4 were just dancers on television shows we had back then.
How can a song, in which the terribly poor dude is dying but gets well when he hears the bells ring, be depressing to you? ;-)
![]() 10/01/2015 at 03:21 |
|
Yeah, it looks like that movie has been mostly forgotten. It’s not anywhere to be found.
That’s funny because I was going to say they remind me of those ladies that used to dance on Top of the Pops, Pan’s People.
What makes you think he gets better? Poor Johnny is weeping at the end.
![]() 10/01/2015 at 07:10 |
|
I’ll go hunting for it. Maybe I’ll run into it on some yard-sale on VHS.
Yes, but in this case not BBC’s Top of the Pops but Dutch Avro’s Toppop . With Ad Visser.
What makes me think he gets better? This lyrics around 2:05 in which he mumbles something like:
He got well, after he heard the church-bell.
![]() 10/02/2015 at 03:52 |
|
Dutch Treat might be easier to find over there. I’m surprised someone hasn’t put it on Youtube. It should be considered a camp classic by the looks of it.
Which one’s Ad? That dude’s mullet and jacket are both epic. I’d totally wear that jacket. I’d have to get one of those turtlenecks to go with it, though. Or, grow lots of chest hair.
![]() 10/02/2015 at 09:00 |
|
I’ve found a guy in Eindhoven who copied it from VHS onto DVD, I’ll see if I can get it somehow. No worries. We WILL see this one. Can I just upload it to YouTube? No legal issues?
Haha, Ad is the guy on the right. Should be lots of youtube footage of him. He’s calling himself singer/songwriter/multimedia specialist. Still on TV sometimes. Even in English.
![]() 10/03/2015 at 15:18 |

Awesome! I can’t wait to see the part with all the rabbis. People put all kinds of stuff on Youtube. If there’s a problem, they’ll just take it down. That movie was produced by these two Israelis named Golan and Globus and they were notorious for making terrible movies in the 70’s and 80’s. Someone just made a documentary about them, actually. I wonder if it talks about Dutch Treat. I know one of them is dead, so the rights to that film may be free now.
I’ll have to investigate him some more. He still has great taste in clothes and hair I see.
![]() 10/03/2015 at 17:06 |
|
He’s on a holiday right now but the 12th of October he’s sending it to me. I’m gonna keep you this promise.
DID I JUST SEE BO DEREK IN THAT TRAILER? Cannon Films? I think I may remember Cannon for some movie poster I had hanging in my teenage bedroom? Probably some martial art movie.
![]() 10/05/2015 at 14:11 |
|
I appreciate it. I always like broadening my knowledge of bad movies.
Bo Derek looks great, doesn’t she? I’m not sure what movie she did with them. The did a bunch of ninja movies, so maybe you had one of those posters which is pretty cool. They’re awesomely terrible movies. Especially that one with Italian Franco Nero speaking with an American voice.
![]() 10/05/2015 at 15:35 |
|
Bad movies? I got a few Dutch ones for you. You know De Zeemeerman ? I don’t think there’s any worse Dutch movie.
Had to Google Franco Nero. Such a familiar face. Spaghetti Westerns probably. Which movie do you mean?
![]() 10/06/2015 at 14:11 |
|
I’ve never heard of De Zeemeerman, but it sounds spectacular and I love the poster. Seems like it’s pretty much regarded as one of the worst movies of all time, so I’ll have to see it. I don’t know how I missed it until now.
Yeah, Franco Nero was in a bunch of spaghetti westerns. Most famously he was the original Django which is an epic movie. For Cannon he played a white ninja in Enter the Ninja. It’s pretty hilarious.
![]() 10/06/2015 at 17:54 |
|
Mermaid is Zeemeermin in Dutch. Man is just, well, man. But be prepared. I didn’t get through to the end. It’s truly, utterly, awful.
ENTER THE NINJA! Of course. And Django, how could I forget. Been too long.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 02:23 |
|
I can take it. Is it like a Dutch version of Splash ?
Django has one of the best endings ever. Enter the Ninja I knew was ridiculous even as a kid.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 04:14 |
|
Well, it’s a bit odd. Because Daniël Boissevain actually isn’t that a bad actor. Mostly TV-work though. It’s not anywhere near Splash . And funny part is: I enjoy bad movies. For hilarity. But this one even I found to go beyond that.
It’s really time winter sets in. I’m in need of a new session of Django . And some Ninja-movies. That theme clearly lost intrest last couple of years...
![]() 10/08/2015 at 02:54 |
|
There are some that are too bad for me, too. But, I don’t know. An 80’s merman comedy sounds pretty entertaining.
I’ve always heard that once you have kids, you’re no longer into ninjas. That’s one of the reasons I’m resisting settling down. I watch a lot of Spaghetti Westerns. One thing I always like about Franco Nero is that he would always dub his own voice. So, his character would have an Italian accent even if he was American or Mexican.
![]() 10/08/2015 at 04:38 |
|
You know why became a Merman in the first place? Some scientist put some human ovum in a sea-lion. And gave birth to this guy. That smelled like fish. So much more could have been done with this story, it’s actually epic!
Even as a kid I wasn’t that into Ninjas. If you had to cover up your face something was wrong with either your cause or your looks. Protective cover (samuraï!) is great though.
I’m starting to like Franco. Speaking of Italian: did you watch the series Il capo dei capi already? I might have mentioned that one before in some The Octopus -discussion.
![]() 10/09/2015 at 01:53 |
|
Wait, so he’s half sea-lion, not half fish? He only smells like a fish? Aren’t mermaids usually fish people? Regardless, that’s completely insane.
Franco Nero is the king. The Mercenary and Keoma are two more classics. Tarantino had him cameo in Django Unchained as well. I never saw that Italian show, no. I don’t think it made it here. It seems interesting, though, now that I’ve looked it up. Sounds like the Godfather only all in Italy and a true story.
![]() 10/09/2015 at 04:42 |
|
True story. ;-) I told you it was bad!
Il Mercenario ! I told you I probably knew him from Spaghetti Westerns, that one I know.
Il capo is definitely worth watching. The story follows Totò’s life from youth to later so with every new decade new cars are on the screen. Italian cars of course. And some BMW’s.
